More of Susan Dey in Beyond Betrayal

In 1994, Susan Dey re-teamed with her former Emerald Point N.A.S. co-star Richard Dean Anderson for the TV thriller Beyond Betrayal. The move is quite fun (not to be taken deadly seriously, as some people tend to do with made-for-TV projects) and ultimately satisfying, especially if you are a fan of either or both of the stars. Beyond Betrayal has been discussed here previously, but a bit more info and a new pair of images never hurt anyone!

Here's a review of Beyond Betrayal which was printed on the same day (October 11, 1994) as the original broadcast premiere of the movie:

And here is a contemporary newspaper article in which Susan Dey discusses at length Beyond Betrayal and her character in the film:

Susan Dey and Richard Dean Anderson first appeared together on the prime time soap opera Emerald Point N.A.S. She played the troubled Admiral's daughter Celia Mallory and he played studly Navy Lieutenant Simon Adams and they had a romance plot-line on the show.

Ten years after Emerald Point N.A.S. ended its brief run on television, Susan Dey and Richard Dean Anderson teamed up again for Beyond Betrayal. The 1994 made-for-TV movie saw Susan Dey on the run from her psycho-stalker ex-husband Richard Dean Anderson, who just happens to be a police officer. However, because she was on the run from him, that meant that they didn't really share the screen together until the end of the movie. Regardless, the movie was sold on the promise of seeing these two stars together again.

Here are two publicity pics of Susan Dey and Richard Dean Anderson for Beyond Betrayal:

In 1994, Susan Dey starred in Beyond Betrayal, a made-for-television movie which aired on CBS. It was the fourth and final film in a successful run of ripped-from-headlines style movies of the week (preceded by Bed of Lies, Love Lies & Lullabies and Whose Child Is This?) she did in the first half of the 1990s. In Beyond Betrayal, Susan Dey plays a battered wife who has gone into hiding, fearing that her police officer ex-husband still wants her back or wants her dead.

One of the draws of this TV movie was the re-teaming of Emerald Point N.A.S. co-stars Susan Dey and Richard Dean Anderson. They both had pursued successful television careers following the premature cancellation of that series and both had cultivated many fans. Even though they only shared the screen for a relatively short time during Beyond Betrayal, the prospect of these appealing stars working together again was reason enough for many people to watch.

The following are some newspaper articles about Beyond Betrayal. First is a piece about the movie that ran in the TV Star section of The Free Lance-Star, a publication from Fredericksburg, Virginia, on September 24, 1994:
